Villa College Organizes Career Guidance Session for Maafushi School Students

Villa College organized a career guidance session for students from Maafushi School, along with parents and representatives from the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), the island council, and school leadership. We were pleased to host them at Villa College's QI Campus, where students had the opportunity to explore our campus and learn about the higher education opportunities available.

The delegation, totaling 76 participants, was warmly welcomed. It included esteemed members such as Maafushi Council President Hassan Solaah, Council member Mariyam Shifana, WDC President Asima Abdul Raheem, and WDC Vice President Sameena, alongside other council members. Representing Maafushi School were Deputy Principal Ahmed Shafeeg, Leading Teacher Suiza Adam, and Leading Teacher Aminath Aroosha.

A significant portion of the delegation was comprised of 47 students: 24 from Grade 10, 18 from Grade 9, and 5 from Grade 12. The visit also included 20 parents, underscoring the community's commitment to supporting their children's educational futures.

The comprehensive visit provided a firsthand look at Villa College's state-of-the-art facilities. The delegation toured our advanced science laboratories (Chemistry, Physics, and Biology), as well as specialized learning spaces designed for Nursing, Robotics, Psychology, and legal studies (Moot Court). Practical, hands-on learning environments like the Culinary Kitchen were also showcased.

Beyond the academic facilities, guests were shown the recreational areas available to students, including the Gym, Library, Student Lounge, AA Building Recreation Area, and the Garden. The tour also included a visit to the ocean-view classrooms, offering a glimpse of the inspiring learning environment at Villa College.

Furthermore, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about the innovative work being undertaken at CIDE (Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development), highlighting Villa College's commitment to fostering creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

The primary focus of the visit was to provide career guidance, particularly for the Grade 10 students, and to illuminate the diverse higher education pathways available at Villa College.

Thank you to the entire Maafushi team for their kind words, engagement, and enthusiasm! We were honored to host such a dedicated group and look forward to welcoming future students from Maafushi.
